Camp Moriah is a week-long camp for families and individuals of all ages. It was created primarily for Primitive Baptists and is operated by Christian Activities, Inc. Many make this week their family vacation because it is such a truly wholesome experience. During the week of Camp Moriah, we enjoy Bible studies, singing, worship, Christian fellowship, and lots of fun recreation. Our facilities are located on the border of Mississippi and Tennessee, near Walnut, Mississippi. Camp Moriah takes place yearly during the third full week of June. x x

Dear Friends of Camp Moriah,

It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that at approximately 11:30 pm on April 2, a tornado made a direct hit on the Camp Moriah campground, causing massive damage to the structures and the grounds.  It is difficult to fathom, much less describe, the damage to the grounds.  While we did sustain damage to buildings, including the total loss of the old “big girls cabin”, the log cabin and the screened in porch, we do not yet know the full scope of the damage to the buildings.    We are very grateful the new girls cabin was the only structure untouched.  The loss of the buildings pale in comparison to the loss of the vast majority of the beautiful trees that made up the natural beauty of Camp Moriah.

Due to the massive amount of cleanup and rebuilding that must take place, we regret to announce that we will be unable to have Camp Moriah in 2025.

While this is a devastating event, we should not lose sight of the sovereignty of God and His good purposes, although we mourn over what just happened.  Today during a site visit, after we took in the unimaginable destruction and took a little time to process it, we were moved to sing “How Great Thou Art” and pray.  Surely the same God who has been so faithful to Camp Moriah for the last many years will continue to provide grace sufficient as we move to clean up and rebuild.   We left with the resolve that this is not the end of Camp Moriah.  We are fully committed among ourselves to see Camp restored and rebuilt.

We know how many of you love Camp and would love to immediately come and help with clean up.  For the next week, it is unsafe.  We are planning to have a work day on April 12th to begin cleanup.   This work day will not be for children because the grounds are still very dangerous.  We will send out more information of what will be needed in the days and weeks ahead..
